Obama/Edwards 2008!
OK – I'm jumping the gun, but I just heard the news that Edwards has dropped out, and everything is moving along the line of the pet theory/hope I've had for awhile:
– Edwards has always seemed to favor Obama, and has been pretty much campaigning to be VP for awhile by staying in the game and in the spotlight as long as possible. But there was never a snowball's chance in heck he'd win.
– Edwards will endorse Obama very soon.
– Obama will go on to win the nomination, and decide on Edwards. It's a no-brainer. On this side of the fence, we all like Edwards; we're just not going to vote for him as president.
I just can't see Obama and Hillary on the same ticket. The way I see it, Obama just plain doesn't like her (duh!), and Hillary doesn't play second fiddle to nobody. That's just the way it is.
Obama the Bringer of Change, and Edwards the Nice Guy. That's the ticket, baby!

Interesting, I can see it happening. Although I'm not overly fond of Edwards it is commendable that he has been running on a platform focused on poverty - an issue the two frontrunners have overlooked. And as for a Obama/Clinton ticket - gross. I think that would undermine Obama's credibility on his "future v. past" platform, especially considering the stunts the Billary train have been pulling lately. Did you see Hillary's "victory" party in Florida last night? Revolting. So go Obama/Edwards 2008!

I thought so too. Then the Kennedy's got involved. You can't introduce Edwards because he's a known factor. Obama if (and that's a big IF) he gets nod from the dems he'll have to bring someone in that can capture the imagination of the swing, indie, and moderate repub voters. I have no idea who that is but I believe come spring a politician we know but don't really know will be he's VP. But, first things first. Let's get passed super tuesday. There's already speculation hil, if she loses will sue to win the delegates from michigan and florida. This is the second round of a 10 round bout.

I like Obama, Richardson better. Edwards, come on, think about the future VP debate when it is Edwards vs. Guiliani. Also remember the 2004 VP debate between Cheney and Edwards, Edwards is just boring. Richardson would be the pragmatic choice, because he would probably do a better job at being the vice president, and he can use his diplomatic skills. People have just got to drop this whole idea of Edwards. I saw him speak in 2004, he just doesn't have "it."

I can't see an Obama/Edwards ticket. Edwards has already ruled out any VP bids, saying he's "been there". Kerry putting Edwards on his ticket in '04 didn't help him much electorally, and I can't imagine much difference this time around either. No way to an Obama/Clinton or Clinton/Obama ticket either. At last night's CNN debate, the two of them were asked by Wolf Blitzer to consider such a "dream ticket", but they both pretty much side-stepped a solid answer. But I do hope that Edwards endorses Obama. And SOON! Super Tuesday is just days away, if he's not endorsing by now, he's effectively endorsing Clinton because he knows Clinton's ahead and an Edwards-bump could help Obama more than it would help Clinton.
