It's finally happened – I am now a complete podcaster, courtesy of Apple. They listed me, and then I scoured the 'net for the key to the magic trick of getting listeners subscribed to my podcast in iTunes with a button click.
Just click here and your browser will do the magic and open iTunes on your computer, bringing you right to my podcast at the iTunes Music Store, where you can subscribe for reals to Metropoliticking in Seoul, my itty bitty podcast.
Or you can click click here for the direct link to the MP3, for those of you who are not iTunes users.
I don't mean to take cyber-jabs at others, but there's another podcast that got listed on the site called "Podcasting in Korea" that consists basically of a bunch of guys testing the mike (the first "show") and links to random speeches at Apple events.
I hate to cyber-hate, but don't give that crap a subscription. Listen to a show to make sure I'm not just playa hatin', but don't subscribe. It's sad to see that someone else wanted to claim the right to the "first" podcast in Korea, but basically didn't want to do the work. I am not normally petty, but through your faithful subscriptions, make my podcast #1! Apple counts the number of subscriptions and make the ratings accordingly. I think I should be able to get higher than random guys testing a mike and a Korean church in Virginia podcasting their English sermons.
OK, call me vain. But I'm sure you don't want random filler crap taking up space on your 'Pod. And if you knew the effort that goes into getting a digital audio recorder, XLR mike, and portable mixer into a bag and podcasting from a moving bus, you'd appreciate what I'm talking about. In return, I'll continue to work hard to give you good stuff – and trust me – good stuff's a'coming! I got plans!
And now I'll finally be free to stop obsessing over the podcast process and get back to text blogging!
Yeah, baby, YEAH!
