Indeed, things have come a long way since the United States was sending weapons and training specialists to Iraq. (Warning: If you don't want to see the actual cellphone video of Saddam Hussein's hanging, you are free to go cruise the web anytime you want.)
Well, things are just gonna get more interesting. Was he executed too quickly? Perhaps. Was is done with the basic decorum and professional detachment that one would think even a condemned prisoner might receive? No. Do I think that, in the end, Hussein should have been allowed to live? No.
The execution may not have been carried out in the manner or timeframe that a lot of people, myself included, might have liked. But people like Hussein, after the tables turn, are not meant to be long of this earth.
