For those of you in the know, you know. For those who don't, well...
I ain't linking there.
Let me just say that I was told by a friend to watch -- but you're supposed to watch with a video camera on YOU to film your reaction, since that's apparently the best part of the whole experience.
And that's not an exaggeration. Your mind will swim as your body struggles to extricate itself from itself. And there's a whole culture of "reaction videos" floating around YouTube of people watching for the first time.
The most interesting is that of Kermit the Frog. That's genius. And there's a reason people freak out, want to wash out their eye sockets, or run screaming (and laughing) from the room. But it's an experience you'll never forget.
Except that I was one of those people who was pretty non-plussed while watching it, since I had seen something like this before.
Thanks, Jeff --my old friend from undergrad who used to send me dirty videos through his work computer (remember, pre-YouTube and pre-broadband at home for most people?). It used to be the video I'd tell people was the "only video that I regretted watching." Yes, and one of the only shock videos I actually deleted.
Yet, I had to watch without the virtual community to laugh with, to share my pain, which actually makes the experience hilarious --except for the actual watching part.
No, I had my "2 Girls 1 Cup" experience all by my lonesome. And it left a scar in my brain.
But, I will say that if you do use Google to find the video (or don't, since the place housing the video is just the title with the .com tacked on – ahem), since it will likely be a life-changing experience for you, recording your own reaction and then watching those of others will be the only way to cope. And have a little fun. Do record yourself. It's a priceless moment. Well, actually, it does have a price. Hehe.
And if you try to just watch the reaction videos first, eventually curiosity will get the best of you. And it will kill you, just as it did the proverbial cat. You're gonna end up watching the video. And you might even challenge yourself, as many others have, to make it through the 1:30 to the end.
If you're going to end up going through all that trouble, film yourself. Trust me – experiences such as these come once in a lifetime. They really do. Just don't say you weren't warned. ;-)
