In a tip from a reader, comes this story about a woman who seems to be the next victim of an online witch hunt in Korea, as she allegedly played a role in the spreading of rumors (along with a few other people) that led to Choi Jin-sil becoming distraught enough to take her own life.
The tip gave a link that showed several of her pictures, Cyworld home page, personal and work phone numbers, email addresses, chat ID's, etc. It's chilling. Guilty or not about spreading an apparently juicy rumor about a major star, no one deserves this kind of treatment. A trip over to the link shows that some Netizens DO get the point that this is just the kind of thing that led to Choi's death in the first place, and society doesn't benefit from cyber-witch hunts.
At least some people seem to have some sense.
