Announcing "The Hub of Sparkle!" metablog. Ahem.
"Join us." (HT to Korea Beat)
What is it? I'll let it (and me?) speak for itself:
Foreigners have reached the million mark, making for 2% of the population here, and the increased diversity of interests among a broader range of people is really showing. In terms of the Korean expat blogosphere, we’ve got people presenting their passion for and knowledge about food, fashion, music, dance, and many other aspects of life here, and coming from a broader range of people, from US service members, women, people from underrepresented ethnicities, various religious perspectives, etc.
We want to make a point to distinguish our little space on the web from some other places in the expat blogosphere by offering a friendly and open-minded atmosphere in which to exchange information and ideas about this increasingly interesting place we all call home.
Basically, by several people (around 12, actually!) putting their heads together, the idea was that we could make a place on the web where the sum was far greater than its parts, where the atmosphere encouraged friendly and helpful conversation and the exchange of ideas, and that was just a pleasant place to go to.
So the cat's out of the bag, and the site's ready for you. We're going to try to make it as useful to you and beneficial to the Korean blogosphere as possible, all while producing a whole new body of information about Korea in English.
Ready to sparkle? (Sorry -- had to do it). Then come on over to the Hub!
