DHL just told me that my absentee ballot has arrived at its destination. I couldn't vote on propositions to protect the right of gays to marry, to legalize prostitution in San Francisco, or to not try 12-year-olds as adults in state courts -- all of which are resolutions I hope pass, especially since history shows that "liberal" San Francisco has a history of being on the side of history -- because I am listed as being permanently absentee and cannot vote on anything but federal measures. But I am happy to have been able to make my vote count in one of the most important elections in American history.
That much, I'm sure, people can agree on.
Of course, this is not my ballot, nor is that my thumb and forefinger in the picture. Nope! Not me taking pictures of my ballot! Obviously, that's a stock photo. Ahem.
