I'm so glad to see people getting up and doing something about the things they feel strongly about, or otherwise putting their passions into motion, rather than just sitting around the pub and talking about what they WOULD be doing, or what everyone ELSE outta be doing.

Congratulations to Ji-yoon for pulling off such a spectacular event!

Also, this blog won the "Best Photography" award, although I really didn't expect it -- there were so many strong competitors. I'm therefore quite flattered to have been voted for in this category.

Photography Class Last Call! February 2009 Session!

This is an announcement for February photography classes!

If you are interested in getting your photography skills together once-and-for-all, or want to get the most out of your camera while living overseas (when you should be taking the most pictures!), this class is for you.

After downloading a detailed syllabus of the class (in MS Word format), if you intend to register for the class, after reading the syllabus, write an email with "photo class" in the subject line, your phone number, and include any questions you have. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU PAY ATTENTION TO THE SUBJECT LINE AND INCLUDE A PHONE NUMBER in your email. It helps make sure no one falls through the cracks when I'm organizing classes.

The classes will likely run on Saturdays and Sundays from 12-3 PM for 4 weeks, from the first week of February. So, if you sign up for Saturdays, plan to come for 4 consecutive Saturdays during February. If there is enough interest in weekday evening classes, we can schedule one as well.

My First Photo Book Is Out!

Well, we're accepting pre-orders, so you'll be the first to get them off the presses after the 23rd of this month. And right now, ordering them directly will be the only way to get them if you're overseas, i.e. not in Korea.

Take a look at the PDF preview of the book and see what it's like, although you can take my word for it that this 35cm-across, supersized book will be one of the most high-quality books you'll ever own, done on 180-gram paper and a softback cover that will make it a pleasure to read. We don't like hardcover and dust jackets over here.

So, if you want a record of a REAL Korea, with colorful street photography, interviews, fashion shots, and more, you gotta pick up "The Seoul Fashion Report."

It's been a long time coming since I was supposed to publish my first photo book --now, it's gonna happen. To all of you who waited so long to see it, here it is, although it's been a long and winding road to get here.
