[With some new classes and discounts for former, pre-Mapo studio photo students as well -- so read through the entire post!]
[The swanky new studio space in Mapo.]
Some of you already know about the photo classes run in our new studio in Mapo, where we teach you how to use your DSLR camera -- really teach you to understand it. Classes are going well and enrollments are up -- in fact, we've just added a new Intermediate class as an extension of the beginning class we were running last month, but the members decided was worth continuing. Thanks for voting with your feet and pushing to extend the beginner curriculum, guys!
So, in addition to our previous list of classes (detailed descriptions here), we have added a continuation of the initial 4-week beginner class to allow another 4 weeks to help lock in the principles we're learning through a series of more specific photo situations such as street, night, and another round of studio photography, and have moved the field trip to Chungmuro and other photo services places to the second class. As we have it now:
-- Basic Photography and Your DSLR (I, Beginner)
-- Basic Photography and Your DSLR (II, Intermediate)
-- Action Photography
-- Studio Photography
-- Photoshop for Photographers
-- Street, Documentary, and the Photo Essay
[see detailed descriptions]
Right now, we have a full class of Basic II, and are gathering a new class of Basic I. Since our Basic II class is on Saturday late afternoon/evening, our Basic I class will continue to be at 10AM-1PM on Saturdays.
Also, we had some interest in "Photoshop for Photographers", and that class will likely have to happen on Sundays, unless we hear otherwise.
Finally, we are gathering a Basic I class for the weekday crowd, and have a couple people ready to go on Wednesdays at 8PM. Any other takers? And for my FORMER STUDENTS from the old days, if you would like to form another Basic II class, you can do so for a significant discount of 125,000 won, and will get the added benefit of doing sessions we didn't have before, such as studio. So for old photo classes alums, we'll be slowly gathering a Basic II class.
So, to sum up, classes filling up for:
-- Basic I on Saturdays, 10-1
-- Basic I on Wednesdays 8-11
-- Photoshop for Photogs on Sundays, time TBD
-- Basic II for pre-Mapo move photo class alums, time TBD
The cost, as per the basic description, is 175,000 won for 4 consecutive 3-hour sessions (the entire course, not per session!), and your spot is reserved when your deposit into the bank account is made. Since hearts and minds fluctuate, we don't consider your spot taken until registration has been paid. Any other specific questions or concerns can be addressed to the email addie at the top right corner of this page.
And welcome to the best (yet always improving) photo classes in Seoul! A great way to learn something new, finally learn to get control over your camera and pictures, and meet new people.
See you in class!
