Yes, sometimes hard work does pay off. Google led CNNGo's editor to Feetmanseoul.com, which led them to employ us as stringers covering Seoul Fashion Week. And all the video editing, runway shooting, and making connections in the industry paid off in our coverage -- we got text, photos, and edited videos into our first story.
Go to the story at CNNGo.com!
And finally, after being the red-headed stepchild at SFW -- the overseas press always gets VIP treatment while local English press such as the Herald, the Times, or even bloggers seem to be just tolerated -- the SFW staff was elated to see their efforts get real international coverage in a "famous" international media venue.
With the week of mishaps that last week was -- backup camera body stolen, main body fails the next day in the middle of a show, then the brand-spanking new 7D I bought ALSO fails after two shows (Canon Korea gave me a loaner) -- this week feels extra good.
Unfortunately Feetmanseoul.com has been listed as an "attack site" by Google and I am having trouble finding out where this little bugger is sticking bad sex links into the HTML. It's not actually harmful per se -- but Google's warning system comes down like a hammer on this sort of stuff. So, no link love from CNNGo yet. So, it's a bitter-sweet success.
But we're stoked nonetheless! The editor was happy with our work, our team is happy, and the content looks pretty darn good.
Korean fashion and Feetmanseoul -- fighting!
