The female announcer starts off with talking about how much snow has fallen, before she transitions to the the man in the field, querying him with, "It certainly appears to still be snowing quite a bit." To which he replies, "Right now, in downtown Seoul, so much snow is falling that it is hard to keep one's eyes open or even stand."
Cue internal monologue.
"When I get back into the studio, I'ma backslap that smirk offa ya."
Cut back to apparently startled weather girl.
Looks like he got the point across, anyway.
"Pak Dae-gi" became the #1 search term on Naver today. Apparently, he was tracked down by a radio show, a friend told me, and when asked if he was still single, he replied, "I've been single all my life." Well, maybe not anymore.
The additional joke is that his name, Dae-gi, is a homonym for "waiting." Which is a little punny joke that he refers to in his own email address: [email protected]. On top of that, the word for "outside" is similar to his last name, Park. 밖 = 박. As a longer stretch, you could read his name as meaning "waiting outside."
That's too much. Hahaha.
You the snow stud, dude.
